Catal1sts was born out of a partnership between ten-year design and online industry veterans Lynea Evans and Alistair Cotton who recognised the failings of traditional media companies to effectively integrate and comprehensively manage client product cataloguing systems from product shoot to print and online.

Catal1sts is currently the only South African design house which specialises in integrating the three requirements for an effective product cataloguing solution across print and online media - in-house for maximum control and effective results.

The core partners have adopted a professional hands-on approach to every aspect of catalogue development - from product photography styling and image capture to the development of custom and template print and online designs.

The Directors

Lynea Evans - Studied graphic design before gaining comprehensive advertising and publishing design experience at companies such as Engineering News, Systems Publishers and Inhaus Design & Advertising.

In 2002, Evans successfully launched Orange Design which produces highly creative packaging, brochures, pamphlets, books, invitations, calendars, postcards and other largely printed matter for a variety of discerning corporate and industry customers.

Alistair Cotton - First studied journalism before gaining experience in local newspapers and then on to magazine journalism, photography and editing. Cotton broadened his experience by entering the online media industry through an appointment as General Manager of a leading "dot com" company early in the early days of the web.

In 2001, Cotton successfully launched Global Latitude - a company offering both print and online development and comprehensive support and maintenance services to leading local and international clients.

Cotton has further studied broadly in both business administration and graphic design and is also an active stock photographer with image portfolios licensed through eight international stock agencies. In addition, Cotton produced the images for two successful cooking books Savvy Kids Food and Savvy Kids Menus.
